Fishing means so many things to me, especially river fishing. Beyond being another reason to be outside it's been the refuge of my soul. 

I love to experience new places. On any given day we have the opportunity to experience events that are unique. I try to capture these ephemeral moments and hold them on the canvas.

As much as I love the natural world "as found" I find that the addition of people in a scene is sometimes important in telling the story.  So often the people are the story.

My earliest art was of animals. Animals seem elusive and mysterious in a way that makes their appearance at times almost mystical. I think that maybe, as an artist I choose them as a frequent subject for the same reason that humans have done this since pre-historic times.
